What's in it for you?
This role is within our Global Online Experience Cluster, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There is no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult - it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually having a new car. That is our mission. We build the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns as well as frameworks for other parts of Volvo cars.
Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts, and regular product development within Quality Engineering department. You should have start-up experience where you have quickly developed prototypes and catalysed product development in a fast paced, fluid environment. You are a hands-on test automation developer who loves Quality Engineering. You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development standard methodologies.
What you'll do
Write utilities for QA team to use. Do you contribute to open source projects? Then it's a bonus points. In collaboration with the product agile teams guide and help secure test automation.
You and your skills:
We are looking for someone with strong programming experience on at least two language from JavaScript, Scala, Typescript, Golang, Kotlin. Exposure with test frameworks WebDriver, Cypress, Protractor, TestNG. Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases. Ability to optimally articulate technical challenges and solutions. Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
Good knowledge within AI and test automation frameworks such as WebDriver, Cypress, Nightwatch.js. Coding experience with automation framework, tools and services for web. Experience in API testing. Collaborating with developers other team members, thereby supplying to acceptance criteria from business requirements, and formulate test scenarios. Good Log troubleshooting experience (elastic search query, bash scripts).
Experience working with message brokers eg: Kafka, RabbitMQ and streams. Proven understanding of build pipelines (Azure DevOps, Team city, Jenkins). Good knowledge of version control systems eg: GIT and databases and SQL queries. Knowledge of design patterns most widely used in Test automation and writing tools to help other manual QA engineers. Understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes. Shows creativity and initiative to improve product coverage and efficiency.
Knowledge of pearl, bash or other scripting languages a plus. Good knowledge in Agile methodologies and testing standard methodologies. Proven knowledge of Integration and Contract testing. Last but not least, open minded person and a teammate.
Would be nice having knowledge within following areas:
* Setting up dashboards for reporting test results in realtime Grafana, Kibana, data dog, etc.
* Docker and Kubernetes configuration and solving problems for test environments.
* Experience working with Typescript.
* Performance testing experience with K6io, Gatling, JMeter.
* Elastic search (KQL), Kibana, AWS, Azure experience is a plus.
