hela Sverige Volvo is in the forefront of electric vehicle development and to remain there we need to continuously improve our products. One important step in this is to improve our simulation and analysis capabilities to better develop world class products to our customers.
We are there for seeking multiple engineers to work with simulation and analysis of the Energy Storage System at Electromobility Product Development. The positions are located in the Energy Storage Verification Group.
Since we are building up this new simulation function for Energy Storage we are interested in finding persons who are creative and interested in contributing very actively in how we should work. Combined with a deep analytical and technical interest you have a recipe for a successful candidate for these positions.
We seek engineers to work in the main areas of Thermal and Mechanical simulations for ESS.
Core Responsibilities
CAE Thermal:
Calculating pressure drops in battery pack (high voltage)
Calculating Heat distributions in battery pack
Simulating different cooling patterns for battery pack and module
Flow of the cooling liquid inside battery pack and module
CAE mechanical:
Durability calculations for high voltage battery and of calming forces.
Analyze mechanical durability aspect related to life time of battery pack and internal components.
Crash loads calculations and simulations.
Works within Simulation and Analysis to provide data analysis, simulation tools and virtual testing for the battery system.
Interfaces with other simulation teams within Volvo to commonly develop the groups simulation common capability and capacity

Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field required
2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in automotive industry
Additional Preferred Skills
Matlab and Simulink programming
Meriting Simulation in GT- Suite (or other 1D Engine Simulation)
