We are looking for a Simulation Engineer within cooling system development.
The group "Powertrain Installation" within the Global Powertrain Development department are divided into three Technical Areas: Cooling System, Supporting Systems and Engine Compartment System. The overall responsibility is to secure the complete Powertrain installation, over time, within the given geometry, cost, quality as well as other requirements and features.
We are now looking for a Simulation Engineer for Cooling System. You will be globally responsible for all cooling performance simulations within Volvo Busses. Our simulations are the foundation in how we dimensioning the cooling systems and therefore also very important since we are striving towards reducing fuel consumption.
We hope that you are willing to take on the challenges that the Bus industry are facing such as lowering CO2 emissions, lower fuel consumption, safe transportation and cost efficient solutions.
Working as a Simulation Engineer within "Powertrain Installation" means:
• Always strive towards high QDCF fulfilment (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature)
• Plan and commit to time plans in order to have correct information when needed in projects
• Evaluate results and ensure the quality of the data and after this write Engineering Report (ER)
• Gather all needed Engineers and present the results
• Give input and support the System Responsible in Road-map development
• Develop and come with new ideas regarding simulation methology
• Ensure that the right simulation methods are used
• Synchronize with the physical test codes
The department and the group have a global responsibility so you will co-operate with our other sites in India, Poland, Finland, Mexico, Brazil, Canada and China. Travelling to our sites and suppliers will occur.
Qualifications:
• Minimum B Sc in engineering
• Good knowledge in heat transfer and cooling system
• Experience in Systems (1-D) modelling
• 3+ years of work experience preferably in engineering analysis
• A strong mathematical and analytical background
• Problem solving skills in a dynamic teamwork environment
• Experience from internal combustion engines, hybrids and
vehicles
• If you have knowledge in KULI this is considered positive
• If you have knowledge in AMESim or GT SUITE is considered positive
• Quality and delivery mindset
• Power of initiative and willpower
• Good network and communication skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Structured way of working
