To succeed in this role, you have been working with visual merchandising and interior management/design on different levels and consider yourself as an expert in this area. You have previous experience from a retail environment, from home furnishing or different retailers. Moreover, you have proven advanced training in different planning and drawing tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit. It is a requirement that you have been working both with the planning and execution of visual merchandising. You demonstrate strong project management skills and can create inspirational presentations. In addition, you are fluent in English, both verbal and in writing.
You do also have knowledge about:
• Trends that influence home furnishing, retail design and communication.
• Methods for presenting the range, display techniques and store layout.
• The IKEA visual and verbal identity in order to facilitate the creation of commercial environment with a distinct brand impression.
You have excellent communication- and collaboration skills and can easily inspire, engage and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders. You get motivated to drive initiatives, respond actively to change and perform high standards in a fast-paced and agile environment. You enjoy working on a detailed and analytical level but can also bring a more holistic view. Furthermore, you are a self-starter who takes ownership and always has the customer's needs top of mind. You demonstrate strong leadership skills and inspire the people around you. Most importantly, you are a true role model of the IKEA culture and values.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The shop design team creates retail spaces and home furnishing solutions. This team is a part of Retail Solution which also includes interior and graphic design. As a Shop Design Specialist, your main task is to design the retail spaces and store layout. You are responsible for creating innovative range presentation solutions that contribute to a growing IKEA business and inspire our customers to purchase and discover new solutions for their life at home. You will be a great contributor to the customer experience in our stores and positioning IKEA as a leading company in home furnishing trends.
You will also collaborate and support our 30 markets in creating a visually stimulating and engaging shopping experience and work cross functional within Ingka Group and other IKEA businesses. Supporting the development of our business plan and ensure that all initiatives are supporting longterm profitability.
It is a permanent role, located in Malmö at our office in Hyllie, "Hubhult".
