The Purification & Analysis R&D Department is responsible for development of protein purification tools as well as protein interaction instrumentation (Biacore). The department is multidisciplinary and is responsible for new product development and support of existing products and driving innovation & research. The Instrument section reports into the Purification & Analysis R&D department, that consists of approx. 90 employees divided into six different sections.
Responsibilities:
The Instrument section is responsible for development and testing of hardware for Biacore systems, small scale lab columns and product care and process care for existing products. The sections competence is in mechanics, electronics, optics, micro fluidics and prototype manufacturing and consists of 9 team members.We are now looking for a self-driven accountable Senior Engineer focusing on development and maintaining our micro fluidics and liquid systems in our Biacore products.The daily work involves research and development work in projects together with other disciplines, CAD work to design and maintain products, support manufacturing, service and sales, research activities, often in a global environment together with GE's global research centres.The position includes active participation in research and development projects; develop micro fluidics and liquid systems, writing requirement specifications, develop product concepts, and supporting service and manufacturing. The position also involves technical leadership by supporting colleagues in technical matters as well as leading tasks and investigations etc.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar experience.
• Technical, application knowledge and practical experience in micro fluidics and mechanical design.
• Strong interest and skills in practical laboratory work with knowledge about manufacturing steps and equipment needed to develop micro fluidics.
• Knowledge and experience of Biotechnology/Biochemistry or related science
• Experience from work in multidisciplinary environments
• Proven ability of planning, executing and evaluating analytical & preparative experiments
• Very good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
• Goal-oriented team worker
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
