The basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead to a professional degree as well as a bachelor's degree. The training of midwives and the courses for specialist nurses lead to a professional registration in combination with a master's degree. All professional programmes lead to a professional registration. Moreover, the freestanding courses are offered at an advanced level, offering the possibility to continue studying towards a master's degree in one of the Institute's main topics; Nursing, Reproductive and Perinatal Health, Radiography and Health Care Pedagogics. The Institute also offers a postgraduate programme leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.The Institute's research profile is based on person-centred care. Thus, there are seven research groups focusing on the following areas: childbirth, learning and leadership, person-centred care in long-term conditions, transition of care in the health care sector, palliative care, acute and critical care and health care environment.Subject areaReproductive and Perinatal HealthSubject area descriptionIn Reproductive and Perinatal Health, the normal process of a pregnancy, abnormalities, childbirth and postnatal period are studied and elaborated. Further, there is a focus on studying the evolution of parenthood, women's sexual and reproductive health in a life cycle perspective, sexuality and family planning.Job assignmentsThe tasks include teaching, course coordination, supervision and the distribution of summative assessments, mainly in Reproductive and Perinatal Health, however teaching may also be required on a first, second and third cycle level. Assignment as a course coordinator involves developing and coordinating learning objectives, learning activities, forms of summative assessments and evaluation criteria in relation to the content, purpose and current pedagogical research as well as quality assurance of the education using validated methods of evaluation.You will be part of a research team that is mainly conducting research in low-income countries. Thus, you may be working abroad for shorter periods. You will be expected to actively initiate and apply for external research funding. You will also be expected to actively work towards achieving the Institute's objectives and adhering to its business plan and participate in planned meetings and activities.You will be teaching in Swedish.EligibilityThe qualification for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3-4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.PhD degree in Reproductive and Perinatal Health (main subject for midwives) and shown pedagogical skills. Qualification as a registered midwife.AssessmentRegulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3-4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.The first assessment criterion is scientific and pedagogical skills. In the selection of the right candidate, great significance will be given to the applicant's current and ongoing international research in Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The quality and width of the applicant's teaching qualifications in Reproductive and Perinatal Health, prior experience in supervision of degree projects, experience of leading or being involved in applications for external research funding and clinical experience will also be important. The candidate should have good collaboration skills and be flexible in contacts with groups of teachers and students. Structured work practices and administrative skills are also an advantage. Very good command of written and spoken Swedish and English.EmploymentThe employment is a part time, 40 %, temporary post for up to 12 months and is located at The Institute of Health and Care Sciences.
