The senior lectureship is in the environmental medical area, particularly in research on fetal exposure to potential endocrine disrupting chemicals and the impact on children's later development and health. This is the focus of the SELMA study, which monitors mother-child pairs from early pregnancy and delivery to the further lives of the children. Research is interdisciplinary and undertaken in close collaboration
with external research groups in experimental toxicology and risk assessment of chemicals. There is also established cooperation with national research environments such as Karolinska institutet, Stockholm University, Gothenburg University, Lund University, and, internationally with Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, as well as around twenty universities in three major EU projects with focus on endocrine disrupting chemicals. Presently, the research group consists of one professor, two associate professors, five senior lecturers and five doctoral students.
