We're now looking for a Senior Distribution Manager in the Global Logistics Function on a temporary assignment (18 months). This position is based in Södertälje, Sweden.
Global Logistics is a part of Global Supply Chain & Strategy, and are based in 39 different countries across the world. The Logistics Team are responsible for leading the distribution of all products, delivered through +1200 routes around the world. That's 100% of AZ's commercial shipments between points in the supply chain, from international freight logistics right through to in-country distribution; getting medicines from factory to customer. We are a Process Centric Organization with high focus on cross-functional team work.
As a Senior Distribution Manager you will be responsible for ensuring successful distribution to customers in the Nordic and Baltic markets through management of multiple logistics service providers and delivering strategic, project and operational goals in line with Global Logistics Function Strategy and the AstraZeneca Supplier management Framework.
The key to success in this role is ensuring customers receive AstraZeneca's products on time and in full, to the right quality, while achieving the agreed budget. This will be achieved through close collaboration and influencing with supply sites, the LSPs (logistics service provider) and Commercial colleagues. The successful candidate will maintain excellent distribution performance through lean leadership & problem solving, while using partnering & strategic acumen to inform the future distribution model in the area.
Responsibilities
* Manage local logistics service providers according to the "Supplier Management Framework" and collaborating with them to drive value
* Ensure Service level agreements and RACIs with relevant stakeholders are in place
* Create close links with the demand teams and market company to understand strategic direction for the markets and then ensure the distribution model is fit for purpose
* Act as first point of escalation for distribution issues in Nordic and Baltic markets and proactively identify & resolve performance issues
* Project manage / support NPI, divestment and other projects impacting Nordic and Baltic market distribution
Requirements:
* Supply chain / logistics experience & knowledge, especially in the area of international distribution of pharmaceutical products
* Industry experience in a "Good Distribution Practice" or "Good Manufacturing Practice" environment
* Supplier management or procurement experience
* Budget management experience
* Strong interpersonal skills & coaching
* Experience implementing lean problem solving
* Fluent in English
Preferred Background:
* Professional qualification in distribution / logistics / supply chain management
* Experienced Lean Practitioner
* Customer Service or Management experience
* Project management experience & qualification
* Experience working internationally or in global teams
