Job description
The Senior Director shall report directly to the CFO and Audit Committee of the Autoliv Board of Directors. He/she will lead and manage the global internal audit function and manage a team of five individuals worldwide. He/she will supervise the work of consultants, interface with outside auditors and be responsible for reviewing, evaluating and maintaining the Company's internal controls, verifying the accuracy of accounts, evaluating accounting procedures and ensuring compliance with internal policies/procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
He/she shall
Conduct financial and operational audits for management to determine effectiveness of internal controls
Create an annual audit plan and schedules for all legal entities
Develop audit procedures and monitor internal audit activities
Report audit findings and advise on corrective action
Ensure consistent compliance with policies/procedures
Work with the CFO and staff to ensure continuing compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act; GAAP and internal policies/procedures
Verify the accuracy of the Company's accounting records and assess the efficiency of the processes/procedures to ensure against risk
Continually monitor and advise the Company on its accounting systems, report deviations from the norm and advise on how to improve
Conduct special studies to analyze data, as may be requested by the Audit Committee
Qualifications
US Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting/finance. Must be a Certified Public Accountant
Min. 10 years combined experience, with at least 3 years in an internal audit role for a large complex corporation and 2-4 years in public accounting, ideally with a "Big 4" accounting p\firm
Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, regulatory requirements and reporting
Experience of global organizations, ability to operate in a global environment
Automotive industry experience or exposure required
Facility in another language in addition to English
Confidence and strong self-awareness, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A strong presence - capable of quickly establishing credibility, forging relationships, influencing constituencies, and persuading professionals
Superior intelligence with excellent analytical and strategic skills, business judgment, project management and problem solving skills with confidence to make and defend important decisions
