Responsibility
As a Data Engineer at Mathem, you will work in close collaboration with your teammates in terms of data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists in the Data team. The team's goal is to provide insights that matter, manage the data end-to-end and create a single source of truth.

You'll focus on building a self-serving platform that delivers any event-based data from the producers to our Data Warehouse. With the delivery of top-quality data in mind, you'll set the technical foundation for our product development and data-driven strategies throughout the whole organization. Your work will affect every part of our business, including product development, supply chain optimization, finance, and BI systems. The team is really keen on trying out new tools and technologies, so besides working hands-on in building the data platform, you'll have the opportunity to bring new ideas and thoughts on "whats" and "hows" regarding our work with data.

What you will do
• Build a robust and highly performant self-serve data platform using cutting-edge technologies that process data in batch and real-time with a focus on scalability, data quality, and business needs
• Work closely with data scientists, and product teams to solve data challenges
• Drive the design, building, and launching of new data integrations and data products in production
• Constantly improving the engineering experience of our users
• Advocate for data quality, data governance and data product thinking

What you will bring
• Bachelor's degree and/or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or comparable positions
• Develop data infrastructure tooling that scales into the future
• Experience with CI/CD and automating day to day processes
• Software engineering fundamentals and the ability to design, implement and deliver maintainable and high-quality code with Python and/or Java
• Comfortable working with SQL and experience with data modelling and data warehousing solutions
• You are a friendly person that appreciates a healthy tech culture
• Fluent in English (Swedish not required)
• Pragmatic while delivering high-quality implementations
• Continuously develop skills through feedback and learning, and like to share what you learn with the people around you
Bonus: Experience with ML Ops

What we offer
• Use open-source and contribute back, at Mathem we don't hide what we do. Instead, we open-source with the community that helped us grow.
• Hybrid work culture (mix of on-site and remote work)
• The opportunity to leave a lasting mark and impression on the daily lives of the people around you, through a product that truly puts a positive impact on peoples' lives and the planet.
• A large, tight-knit and supporting Data & Insight community in the company and enthusiastic colleagues who truly care about helping others.
• Excellent opportunities for personal and professional development in a fast-growing tech company with new challenges and opportunities to solve meaningful, previously unsolved problems around every corner
• An onboarding program where all new employees, in addition to our Data & Insight-specific onboarding, get to work hands-on in delivery, picking and customer service.
• A transparent workplace where we use Google Workspace and Slack to communicate, discuss and share what we are working on, and stay in the loop with fewer emails and meetings.
• Regular social events, both in discipline and in the team, where we do fun stuff together with awesome colleagues!

Technologies you will use
• Data integration: Dataflow, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows, Datastream
