The Group Product Purchasing - Closures provides specific Purchasing competence within the area of Closures at Volvo Car Group. The team consists of eight people collaborating mainly with three PSS at R&D. The mission is to support R&D by managing sourcing activities, supplier- market- and spend analysis, contract management as well as governance towards our current and potential suppliers. We are a team consisting of 8 talented purchaser. We have a highly open and energetic work environment where we continuously strive for improvement and welcome all kind of new and creative ideas. Please note that this is a temporary position.
The Senior Category Buyer secures supply and delivers cost efficiency and additional value in sourcing programs, by participating and executing on Commodity Business Plans, and by having a clear view on business demands as well as the supplier market.
The product area is Trim, Rails and Sealings.
Main responsibilities
* Have a total cost approach by delivering cost savings, cash flow and added-value improvements
* Anchor and execute Commodity Business Plans, e.g. identifying and leading key programs to achieve cost saving targets and setting supplier base portfolio, based on market and business needs
* Lead commercial and contractual negotiation with suppliers within the area
* Together with Stakeholders prepare and effectuate RFI/RFQ within the area
* Perform risk management analysis, including financial risk analysis of suppliers
* Manage and lead the supply base towards an optimal total cost approach and overall efficiency in delivering long term sustainable profitable growth
* Conduct market-, supplier- and spend analysis to be on top of the area and be able to perform strategic sourcing initiatives.
Required qualifications
* University degree or equivalent professional experience in relevant area
* A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience
* Solid negotiation, commercial and contractual track record
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Professional experience in multi sourcing.
