We are now recruiting a Research Scientist focused on the development and application of innovative imaging biomarkers for an assignment lasting until 2014-05-31, with start 2013-06-01, location Mölndal.

Job Purpose:

You will be part of the In Vivo Biomarker group (part of the Personalised Healthcare and Biomarkers research function), located inAlderleyPark(Cheshire,UK) and Mölndal (Gothenburg,Sweden) at AstraZeneca. This team of scientists uses a range of state of the art in-vivo imaging scanners (PET, MRI, CT, SPECT, Ultrasound) focusing on the development and application of innovative imaging biomarkers.

To be successful in this role you should be able to work closely with colleagues in the group as well as in bioscience and clinical departments, to prioritize, manage and deliver imaging informatics solutions for projects in areas such as oncology, respiratory disease and drug safety assessment. You are a good communicator and have interpersonal skills in order to contribute fully to translational imaging projects, to develop new partnerships and to champion delivery. You will be encouraged to publish scientific work.

Preferred experience/requirements:

• PhD in a relevant discipline, or proven experience of multidimensional image analysis.
• A strong record of publications on the subject of image analysis in preclinical and clinical research.
• Good programming skills using established numerical analysis software packages.
• Good knowledge of image segmentation and registration techniques.
• Be familiar with common in-vivo imaging methods.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

 Qualifications:

PhD in a relevant discipline, or proven experience of multidimensional image analysis.
