Acta Dermato-Venereologica (ADV) is an international, peer-review, open-access journal for Skin Research, Clinical Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. It was founded in 1920 and is now owned and published by a non-profit society with an international board of editors. ADV publishes 6 issues per year and its present impact factor is 3.176. The Editor-in-Chief, Anders Vahlquist, is also head of a Dermatology research group at Uppsala University focusing on skin biology and therapy in relation to monogenetic skin diseases (Laboratory Chief: Assoc Prof Hans Törmä, PhD)
The following position is available for suitable candidates:
Part-time job as scientific writer and editorial assistant, ADV, Uppsala, Sweden, optionally combined with a post-doc position in skin research at Uppsala University.
The ideal candidate should be a dynamic, native English-speaking scientist with a recent PhD degree in biomedical research, preferably from a British, Irish or American university, and who is committed to the communication of knowledge. Previous experience of editorial work at a scientific journal would be an advantage, but is not essential.
The balance between editorial and post-doc work, as well as the salary, are negotiable and will depend on fulfilling the necessary formalities required for a position at Uppsala University. We wish to discuss the position with prospective candidates, allowing the applicant?s wishes to be taken into account in determining the exact structure of the final combined position.
