Scania purchasing is a diverse group of highly skilled and helpful colleagues, believing that we solve any problem together and take pride in our work. With over 20 nationalities and daily global business dialogue, we look after the business of Scania.
Powertrain & Chassis is growing. We are now looking for several talents to our teams within project and commodity.
Project Purchaser
We purchase the new parts & components for any new project introduced in Scanias portfolio of development. We work early in the process supporting our technical department in identifying cost efficient methods and matching them with the best strategically suitable suppliers in the market. In doing this we ensure that Scania remains the high quality output with the right cost input, and directly impacting our company result. You will be responsible for a segment, following the development dialogue as it happens through Scania's development process and ensure we are commercially taking the right path to validate and identify the best technology for the future of Scania.
Commodity purchaser
We purchase parts and components for existing products and handle parts in running production with the main goal to secure capacity. In your daily work you will work close with the suppliers and R&D through technical & commercial analysis of the complete business scope in each matter. At the same time you will constantly challenge the current supplier base and parts in running production by having an overview working with optimization trying to find cost savings. You will also lead and develop the collaboration of a 3-ring, which consists of colleagues from the project and quality teams.
You
To be happy in this role it would help if you are a structured person who are attentive to details, works according to processes and organizes your work. Scania has a true global environment that we hope you will feel comfortable in. Since you will be in contact with many people, internal Scania as well as suppliers you clearly communicate requirements and consequences and find it easy to argue your case and to put forward arguments and to be listened to. We also hope you get motivated working towards tough goals.
We appreciate that you have:
• A degree in engineering, business administration or similar meriting experience, and have relevant Work experience from purchasing of 2-5 years
• A ability to talk fluent in spoken and written English. Swedish is an advantage as well as other language skills
• Good knowledge in Excel
• Drivers license is seen a merit
• Earlier experience from working with or taking decision based on drawings is seen as a merit
• Experience from having contact with R&D is seen as a merit.
