hela Sverige Do you have experience in polymers and are you in general interested in polymers and sustainability? We are looking for colleagues that can help us grow in the field of sustainable plastics, polymers and composites.
About us
In the unit Polymer Materials & Sustainability our focus is properties of polymeric materials and polymer products. We are experts in material and product performance in different industries, applications and environments. Our laboratories are located in Borås and Stockholm. In the field of sustainability, we work with both the technical aspects such as durability and lifetime as well as with the softer aspects, such as behaviour and transition to green materials. This means that we do both research and testing commissions to support industry in adapting to the future. We work with both industry and with public founded organisations.
About the position
The position will be as a researcher in the unit "Polymeric Materials & Sustainability" in Borås.
As a researcher in the unit, your role will be to:
- Initiate and apply for research projects within our focus areas (polymer and plastics durability and sustainability). This could be both public founded calls, nationally and internationally but also offering private industry our services.
- Lead and work in research projects and daily industry commissions such as analysis, testing, material expertise, consulting etc.
- Build networks, both externally and internally. A key to progress as a researcher at RISE is to widen your network.
You will be one of our experts to widen our offers to customers and colleagues and you will be working in a competent team consisting of researchers and engineers. We are there to support each other, so helping your colleagues whenever needed is obvious and a part of the job. Depending on your profile, the position can be adapted to suit both your and RISEs ambitions.
Your profile
For this position we are looking for an experienced researcher preferably with a PhD degree / post doc. within polymers, or relevant knowledge from industry.
Highly valued experiences and abilities are:
- Application writing: Both nationally and internationally. You should be experienced in finding calls, build consortia and take lead on application writing from A-Z.
- Project management
- Building relations with customers and colleagues
Sustainability is a wide area, all from materials, circularity, behavior to business models. Therefore, a holistic point of view is important.
We see that you have experience in some of these fields.
- Biobased polymers
- Biodegradable polymers
- Degradation behavior of polymers
You as a person
We prioritise our customers and colleagues, so you should have a good ability to create good working relationships with both. The job involves a lot of customer contact and therefore demands that you can express yourself clearly in at least English, both speaking and writing. Big plus is if you can communicate in Swedish. The ability to write clear and concise scientific reports is required.
As a person you are committed and driven and see solutions and opportunities rather than problems. You must be able to create your own projects and business opportunities. You are well organised and have an interest in helping create new business and projects but also an ability to further develop existing ones.
RISE is an institute to support industry, we see that you have the capability to see what is relevant for our customers.
We look forward to your application!
