hela Sverige The research institute Swerim provides applied research within mining engineering, process metallurgy and materials and manufacturing engineering, mainly for the mining, steel and metals industry. Swerim has 190 co-workers in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm.

Do you want to contribute to Industry 4.0 and contribute to sustainable industry. We are looking for a new position as researcher within developing new digital tools for metal producing industry.
At Swerim we conduct research in close collaboration with industry, based on their processes and data. In our research team we develop digital twins of processes like heating and hot rolling which to optimize and predict performance. We have high competence within data analytics, sensor development and modelling. Our research network spans over several industrial sectors and includes some of the largest metal producing plants in Sweden, as well as partners within EU. We strive to generate industrial benefit through research towards digital transformation for sustainable industry.
Who are you?
We believe you are passionate about programming, analytics (AI, machine learning). You have a background as Master's within Mathematics, Data Science, Physics or Engineering and have broaden your experience toward industrial digitalization. You are highly skilled in programming (for example Matlab and Python) and have worked with data management, data bases and statistical analysis, as well as imaging. It is highly advantageous if you have proven results working with industrial application.
What do we offer?

You will work in close collaboration with industrial partners to develop new numerical models, data management, data mining and to utilize analytics to help industry gain new knowledge of their processes and material. You will also contribute to new development of camera based imaging. Collaboration inspire us as company and you will eventually expand your research team within whole Swerim.
We value your personal strength and believe you are a person who is strongly self driven and show high engagement. You are team-oriented and used to communicate research both on basic and advanced level. You speak English fluently and although is not a requirement, you Swedish skills will be beneficial for the role.
The position is placed in Kista or Luleå.
