Department of Oncology belongs to the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. The department is involved in teaching at graduate and postgraduate levels, and in research in various parts of non-surgical oncology. The research includes clinical and epidemiological research together with basal tumor and radiobiology oriented research.

Job assignments
To, within the discipline of oncology

• Perform research and participate in education of PhD students
• Cooperate with local, national and international research groups
• Participate in education of graduate students
• Contribute to the information of knowledge in oncology and the work at the department

Qualifications
MD exam. PhD exam within oncology or tumor biology or similar subject. The applicant is supposed to have vast research experience after dissertation and to constitute and lead a research group with own research profile. Furthermore, the applicant is supposed to have a wide experience of research on various aspects of tumor biology, and experience of research on various tumor types, cancerogenesis, cancer prevention, and development of new methods for tumor treatment.
