A 24 months researcher position is available within the research group led by docent Ali Harandi, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Institute for Biomedicine, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The research team is involved in several EU funded projects with the overarching objective of studying mode of action of vaccines.

Job assignments
The development of novel vaccines may be facilitated by a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action of vaccines or their individual components as they pertain to their interaction with the immune system. The research group is currently involved in several projects with an overarching objective of improving our understanding of vaccine mechanisms of action. The research is done by employing cutting-edge OMICS technologies combined with conventional immunological methods.

The researcher will be responsible for conducting Systems Biology analysis and integration of the data obtained from different layers of OMICS along with conventional immunological assays. The researcher will be partly involved in the management of the EU projects.

Qualifications
A PhD in biology or systems biology and a documented postdoc in the field of systems biology analysis of response to vaccines are required. More specifically, the researcher is expected to have ample experience in integration of large dataset obtained from different OMICS, and execution of multivariate statistical analysis such as OPLS and OPLSDA. A good command in the multivariate modeling programs SIMCA as well as the pathway analysis program KEGG, PAINTOMICS and IPA is a merit. Excellent communication skills and time management and preparedness to work in multidisciplinary projects are required. The researcher is expected to have excellent managerial skills.

Employment
Fixed-term employment, fulltime for 2 years at the Institute of Biomedicine. First day of employmet as agreed.
