Job assignments

Our group is looking for a dedicated researcher who can complement our research activities. The researcher will work in a project aimed at understanding the consequences of age for blood cell formation, with a particular focus on how aging changes the function of hematopoietic stem cells.

Techniques used in the research group include cell culture of both cell lines and primary cells, experimental animals (including cell isolation with flow cytometry), molecular biology techniques such as recombinant DNA work, gene expression assays and sequencing based techniques, as well as biochemical methods such as the production of recombinant protein and the study of protein-interactions (with DNA / RNA / protein). The applicant should be able to grasp relevant issues needed to advance the research project, and be able to work both independently and as part of a group.

Qualifications

PhD in a relevant subject. As used herein, relevant means in a broader sense, i.e. good methodological knowledge can f.i. compensate for the lack of direct experience from hematological / stem cell biology research. A strong personal motivation, an ability to work in a team and good knowledge of English (both spoken and written) are prerequisites. Experience from one or more of the above mentioned techniques. A major emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment

The employment is an temporary employment, 100% for 24 months. The employment is placed at the Institute of Biomedicine. First day of employment as agreed.
