Sahlgrenska academy, University of Gothenburg, hosts the training program for dietitians in southern Sweden. The program is four years with admission once per academic year and has about 135 students. After three years, students can obtain registration as dietitans. The program is supervised and examines annually about 40 students and master thesis for about 20 students. Staff at the Department of Internal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition is responsible for most of the teaching in the program. Furthermore, the department participates with lectures and exercises in clinical nutrition in the training of doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, dispensing pharmacists and public health scientists.
Job assignments
The duties include teaching and course responsibility for the course MED723 that covers Dietary Research Methodology, a specialized course at an advanced level second cycle dealing with methods for measuring dietary and nutrition intake in groups of individuals. Course responsibility includes planning of the course, teaching and examination during the course, as well as course evaluation. The duties also include data collection in an ongoing randomized intervention study aimed at investigating the effect of various dietary interventions in patients.
Qualifications
Graduated doctorate in nutrition or equivalent. Research in the field of nutritional intervention research is meritorious. Earlier experience of teaching in the dietitian program is more proficient, especially in the experience of teaching on dietary research methodology at advanced level. Merit also is if the applicant has used / uses dietary research methods in both epidemiological studies and in intervention studies. It is desirable that the applicant has research experience in planning, data collection and analysis of randomized clinical trials and dietary interventions.
Particular emphasis is placed on the applicant's interpersonal skills. The applicant should have administrative skills. All education is performed in Swedish, very good skills in the spoken and written language is therefore needed.
