The University of Gothenburg tackles society's challenges with diverse knowledge. 37 000 students and 6 000 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract scientists and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future. We are seeking a researcher to join professor Christina Jern's stroke research group at the Institute of Biomedicine. The research goal is to identify risk factors and genetic mechanisms that increase the risk of suffering a stroke.

This includes multiplexed protein analyses and includes statistical analysis of large datasets. The researcher will also participate in genome wide association studies (GWAS) and studies on rare variants in relation to stroke and intermediate phenotypes. The latter will include actively coordinating studies with both national and international collaborators. The researcher can even be involved in more experimental studies for functional characterizing genetic variants. Furthermore, the candidate will co-supervise PhD students.
