hela Sverige Oriflame is now looking for a Research Technician (Biomedicinsk analytiker) to further strengthen the Skin Research Institute and Skin Biology team in Stockholm
Your responsibilities
Oriflame's Skin Research Institute is focused on cutting-edge scientific research within R&D. Our state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Oriflame?s head office in Stockholm is home to a multidisciplinary research team where the objective is to develop new active ingredients that prevent skin ageing.
The Research technician will be responsible for:
• Cell and explant culturing
• Tissue processing
• Performance of cellular, biochemical, molecular and immuno histochemical assays to determine activity of ingredients.
• Data analysis and documentation
• Accomplishing individual goals and meeting project timelines for the group
• Working together with other team members to build a highly efficient and collaborative team
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will have broad expertise in cell- and molecular technologies as well as ideally having experience in immunohistochemistry and enjoy team work in a flexible and multidisciplinary environment.
Strong Expertise in Cell and Molecular Biology Techniques
• Human cell and tissue culture expertise. Experience in working with primary cultures from human skin eg-fibroblasts, keratinocytes, melanocytes and explants are desirable.
• Protein and RNA extraction from cells and/or tissue
• Strong skills in Immuno assays such as ELISA, Luminex and/or cellular imaging
• Strong skills in quantitative RT-PCR
Experience in histology & Immuno histochemistry
• Basic Histology procedures to include tissue processing, embedding, microtomy and staining of paraffin embedded tissue.
• Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence procedures
• Image analysis & photomicrographs
Other competencies
• Enthusiastic team player but also self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative.
• Flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong problem solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present results clearly
Education/Experience
BMA/Lab technician with at least 5 years work experience in a relevant scientific discipline (Cell and molecular biology/histology).
Ability to work in an English speaking environment.
