We are looking for an individual with a strong interest and proven track record in sustainable consumption/production-consumption systems research. You are an experienced researcher who works well independently and as part of a team. You are able to work effectively with different partners and stakeholders and have excellent research and writing skills.

SEI HQ is a dynamic and expanding workplace that employs around 110 people from 28 different nationalities in an activity-based office in central Stockholm (Garnisonen), with an additional 200 employees in centres around the world.
The role
Transitioning to a sustainable food system is essential for tackling the most pressing environmental issues of today. The CANDIES project examines how digital information is used along food supply chains, including in relation to consumer behaviour, transparency, environmental impact assessment and traceability. The project started late 2019 and will run until 2023. We are now looking to strengthen the team with a Research Fellow to lead research activities on sustainable food consumption, with an interest in behavioural change and the systemic and structural factors that influence consumption.
Key duties and responsibilities
Lead research into sustainable food consumption
Undertake quantitative and qualitative data collection on food consumption, with analysis, presentation and communication of research results
Participate in transdisciplinary research projects on sustainable consumption and production of food
Oversee work done by junior colleagues related to these topics
Contribute to writing proposal and grant applications to support collaborative research
Communicate and disseminate results to target groups such as policymakers
Support and lead publication of research outputs, ranging from scientific papers to opinion pieces
Present at seminars, workshops and academic conferences.
Project administration, budgeting and liaising with project partners.

Who you are
You have a strong interest and proven track record in sustainable consumption/production-consumption systems research. You are an experienced researcher who works well independently and as part of a team. You are able to work effectively with different partners and stakeholders and have excellent research and writing skills.
Required qualifications and knowledge
Essential skills and experience
PhD in relevant field such as sustainable consumption, food consumption or related field
3-5 years work experience
Knowledge of digitalization, sustainable consumption and production and supply chains
Experience leading own research projects and working with multidisciplinary teams
Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis (including surveys and/or interviews), academic paper and report writing, and communications
Time management, organizational and project management skills
Proven publication record in your area(s) of expertise
Fluency in English.

Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with different audiences
Proactive and self-motivated working style
Able to work both independently and as part of a team as appropriate
Good prioritization and time management skills in order to work on multiple tasks at the same time and meet deadlines.

Desirable skills and experience
Knowledge of behavioural change and food systems
Experience in running consumer behaviour experiments in stores/restaurants
Fluency in Swedish.
