The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science.

The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, and geriatric epidemiology and biostatistics.

Your mission
We are seeking a research assistant to support a project with the aim of developing an evidence-based health policy decision system for Sweden and Taiwan. The project is a collaboration between researchers at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and brings together researchers with expertise in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health economics. Tasks will include, but are not restricted to, conducting literature reviews, obtaining and cleaning data, performing statistical analyses in Stata and R, contributing to written scientific manuscripts, and administrative tasks related to the project. The position is in the research group of Professor Paul Dickman, who is based at the Solna campus of Karolinska Institutet. This is a position of six months with the possibility of an extension. Your profile
The successful applicant should have a degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline. The applicant must be able to communicate fluently, both orally and in writing, in English (the working language of the group in Sweden). It is a merit if you are able to communicate in Mandarin (the working language of the group in Taiwan). The applicant must have experience of data analysis using both Stata and R. Previous experience with flexible parametric models (developed and used by the Swedish group) and iSQoL (developed and used buy the Taiwanese group) is a merit.
