The Department of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics seeks applications for a one-year pre-doctoral research analyst position in empirical finance funded by the Wallenberg Foundation.

The desired start date is no later than 1 June 2023. (The duration of the contract is 359 days.)

The position will suit a candidate who intends to gain experience of research in finance before applying to a PhD program in finance, economics, or another social science. As a research analyst, you will be working on cutting-edge empirical research projects in finance. You will work in close contact with senior researchers at the Department of Finance. The program serves as an ideal bridge between university and PhD program for students interested in empirical research in finance or economics. Our previous research analysts are either enrolled in top PhD programs or working in industry as data scientists or financial analysts.

The successful candidate will be based full time in Stockholm for the duration of the position.

Job qualifications

Applicants should be completing (or have recently completed) a Master's degree in economics or finance and have strong quantitative skills. Outstanding programming skills are expected in both Stata and Python. Excellent spoken and written English is a requirement.
