We belong to the Energy Storage System section, part of Volvo Groups' electromobility division. We develop and lead the Energy storage system product portfolio for Volvo Group globally.
At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the Energy Storage System, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase including the quality management of all our products.
What will you do?
You will be our expert, leading the work related to reliability engineering for ESS. You will have the opportunity and responsibility to secure the targeted quality level for our end customers. Work will be performed close to engineering departments and related features within our department.
You will be the owner of the reliability attribute and requirements, leading the reliability of our batteries. Propose product reliability improvements, by applying advanced failure analysis methods including failure modeling based on physics of failures and definition of adequate mitigation measures. Develop and implement the necessary tools, new ways of working and methods for reliability engineering for battery products along the entire product life cycle. Monitor and report the actual and predicted reliability status of our batteries to the organization. Balancing the pro-active quality measures against warranty risk/budget.
You will lead the work in close collaboration with validation-, data analytics- and quality team, system- and component owners and as well project managers.
Who are you?
You are a senior expert in reliability engineering of electrical and electronic components for the automotive industry. We believe that to be successful in this position you need to have an analytic mindset with the ability to generate ideas and have a can-do attitude. We also believe that you have a strong drive to meet customer expectations, the ability to initiate change and decide on facts. You are also well organized and structured with the ability to drive things to completion, actively striving to spread your knowledge and expertise to others.
You also have:
Min 5 years' experience in leading complex reliability programs within the automotive industry.
Deep knowledge of physics of failures of battery components, cells, and systems. As well as on reliability engineering tools and methods.
Experience of system/component responsibility in Electrical Propulsion system.
Experience in balancing validation programs versus warranty budget.
MSc in Electrical & Electronics, Mechatronic, Physics or similar.
Fluent in English
Meritorious:
Experience from design and technology systems within Energy Storage Systems or Electric vehicles.
Knowledge in Volvo Group development and quality processes.
Commercial vehicle knowhow
