We are looking for a Release Train Engineer with the leadership ability and ambition to bring out the best in people to join the Electrical and Software Architecture (ESA) department at Volvo Buses.
We develop components and functionality within the electrical area for Volvo Buses in close collaboration with Volvo Group.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We have highly motivated and skilled people within our department and your job is to ensure that they have the best prerequisites to perform their work.
You will manage and optimize the value flow in the department, bring clarity and transparency in understanding our development performance, and ensure a clear backlog-driven development as well as tracking the progress in deliveries.
You will motivate and coach teams in agile practices and ways of thinking to enhance flow and transparency. You will also help manage risks and dependencies, escalate, and track impediments, and facilitate PI-planning events and demos.
Collaboration skills is a key to success in this role. You will be working closely with all the teams in our department but will also collaborate outside the department with our stake holders to understand and resolve dependencies. As you will be a part of the department management team, you will collaborate closely with the department manager, group managers, product manager and the team leaders making sure we bring out the best of our organization, while enjoying our work. Hence, a high level of organizational skills is needed as well as a genuine understanding of the agile mind-set. You should have a strong interest in leadership, developing people by promoting continuous learning and improvement.
Since we are a smaller company, we all work with broad responsibilities and cross-functionally through the entire company, across many different departments, cultures, and competence areas. This position will be no different, coordinating with other development teams and stake holders here at Volvo Buses and within Volvo Group will be important.

We at the Electrical and Software Architecture department are purpose driven, inspire each other to teamwork and recognize achievements. We use our curiosity and engagement as energy into our continuous transformation journey, staying relevant in an ever-changing world.
You will be part of the management team for this department consisting of around 100 skilled engineers. Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture is a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses which is responsible to integrate Volvo group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short- and long-term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus. In close cooperation with colleagues at different departments, we are supporting each other in reaching our mission in helping millions of travellers reaching their travel destination. All over the World. Every day.
THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
We see that you have a technical understanding of the electrical and software area and an academic background and education on MSc level or equivalent. You also need to be fluent in English (spoken and written).
We think you are a structured, inclusive, communicative, collaborative and team-oriented leader with a high customer focus. You are curious and continuously searching for new knowledge!
You have excellent communicational skills and ability to work in a global environment with various cultures and languages. You are open minded, flexible and can easily adapt.
