The Position
Toyota Material Handling is at the forefront of innovation within logistics, dedicated to shaping the future through cutting-edge technology. Our commitment to excellence has positioned us as a key player in the market, and we're now looking for a visionary leader to drive our Energy System development initiatives forward. We are now seeking an experienced R&D Manager to join our growing team based in Mjölby, Sweden.
You will lead and inspire a dynamic team of engineers on our journey to further strengthen our leading energy solutions. The team currently consists of 15 people but will grow over time. You will be part of the R&D management team, and you will report to the Director R&D for Warehouse trucks.
Your responsibilities
Lead and develop the energy systems department, including battery system development, cell technologies and storage solutions.
Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet objectives and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and sales, to ensure seamless project execution.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments to maintain a competitive edge.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.

Your profile
Engineering degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, energy systems, battery technology or related industries, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage technologies, and related standards.
Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Ability to think strategically and drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of sustainability practices and renewable energy systems is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
