hela Sverige Northvolt is currently looking for a senior R&D Manager to lead our Cylindrical Cell Development team.
This is a unique opportunity as in joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society and as part of our team you will get the chance to have a real impact on our success story in Sweden (to start with) and see the results of your work.
The Senior Engineering Manager Cylindrical Cell Development will report to our Head of R&D and will be in charge of a fast growing team. You will be a vital member for our team and key to Northvolt's mission to enable the future of energy.
As leader of the unit you will have the opportunity to build a competent and dependable team from scratch, capable to scale Northvolt's operations in Sweden and internationally.
In this key role you will lead the development of our cylindrical cells, setting the standards to create to create an excellent, innovative, modern and competitive product.
This role will initially be based in Stockholm, and further on base will be the R&D Center in Västerås.
Education/Experience
BSc, MSc degree or above in Business and Administration, Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in either Business Development or in R&D
Experience from the Battery Industry
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Japanese is a plus
Highly organized and result-driven
Detail oriented
Proactive and goes beyond expectations
Has a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines, excellent time management
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressured international environment

Northvolt is building the largest lithium-ion battery factory in Europe. This is key for future innovation and will support and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy production and consumption. We are staffing our international project office in Stockholm and preparing upcoming recruitments for the establishment of the R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås and the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
