HVDC in Ludvika, Sweden is currently seeking a R&D Engineer specialized in cooling systems to join the team. As a R&D Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will work on cutting-edge technologies to develop advanced cooling systems for HVDC. With support from your highly skilled and professional colleagues, this position offers you to take on the ownership of the cooling system matters in the team.

Your Responsibilities:
Develop new cooling technologies and improve existing ones to enhance the performance of HVDC converter Valves and its cooling system.
Conduct research, testing, and validation of cooling systems using advanced modelling, simulation, and analysis tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to integrate cooling systems into designs.
Evaluate and select materials, components, and suppliers for cooling systems based on technical requirements, cost, and reliability.
Support product development projects by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving expertise.
Your Background:
Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Experience with new product development, flow simulations, control of liquid cooling system and automation and process systems.
Understanding of semiconductor cooling, Rth, junction temperature, parameters affecting thermal flow such as heat sink flatness.
Knowledge of fieldbus technology, component/instrument, deionizing chemistry, and cooling system redundancy philosophy will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of cooling systems simulation and calculation such as 2/3D 2-phase CFD simulations and 1D pressure drop calculations of full cooling.
Proficiency in 3D-CAD modeling, ideally in NX environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Ansys Fluent or similar software is preferred.
Fluency in English.
