Responsibility
Purpose/Key Objective of the Position:
The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager coordinates and manages all activities related to quality assurance and quality control for the Kristinehamn plant.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as primary contact for all QA/QC management and control systems and ensure that training for both technicians and employees is sufficient to ensure that personnel can use these systems properly
• Coordinate any requested changes of formulas with R&D to improve and refine formulations for on test consistency and manufacturability
• Obtain approval from R&D on all formula changes prior to any implementation to ensure product maintains acceptable quality level
• Coordinate and manage all quality assurance and quality control activities
• Chair, coordinate or serve on project management teams, to include supplying information, implementing projects or other duties as assigned
• Organize departments to reduce the cycle time and increase batch throughput. Minimize the number of hits/batch.
• Establish effective interaction between QA/QC, Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Technical Lab personnel.
• Determine and maintain appropriate staffing levels, develop positive morale and initiate the use of team concepts.
• Participate in meeting with vendors concerning quality control and process improvements.
• Participate in the resolution of claims.
• Coordinate with the Continuous Improvement Manager on all appropriate Lean Six Sigma project and process improvement activities.
Job requirements / Candidate profile
• Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering is preferred with a Master?s degree
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge of analytical techniques
• Strong working knowledge of and experience in quality systems (ISO)
• Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, and extremely high regard for PPM quality standards and must always be cognizant of complying with all policies and procedures with respect to safety, health, codes, company directives and government regulations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong customer service and leadership skills
