What are my responsibilities?

As Project Procurement Manager your main responsibilities will be early involvement of purchasing in project management process and in project teams of Siemens real estate business. Organization, control and regulation of all purchasing activities in projects and implementation of purchasing strategies in order to achieve maximum contribution to operating income, to adhere to project budgets, to ensure compliance with the described purchasing processes, and to optimize resource utilization. The responsibilities include:

Conducting contract and price negotiations or supporting the technical purchaser responsible for the relevant materials in order to achieve project goals with the best conditions.

Ensuring orderly procurement processes and controlling all purchasing resources and activities as well as keeping all involved in purchasing well informed in order to provide optimal input on potential savings (procurement plan, target costing) and to fulfill requirements in terms of schedules and quality.

Attending work groups and forwarding information to inform self and others, to exert early influence, and to optimize internal workflows and processes.

Assessing special risks, opportunities and market situations with regard to project progress in order to prevent possible damage by means of suitable risk and claim management (e.g. contractual conditions) and to exploit opportunities.

Defining and successfully implementing procurement strategies in projects on the basis of SRE purchasing strategies, identifying solution approaches and integrating various objects in order to achieve project goals.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Min. 5 years of experience in various purchasing roles in the construction industry and, if possible, extensive cross-functional experience in 2-3 year assignments in various function areas.

Substantial experience in project management and contract law as well as process knowledge of purchasing and associated functions and negotiating skills.

Advanced skills in the English language.

You are working methodically, manage and solve problems, and have an ability to push issues that don't have an immediate solution. You're results driven, assertive and analytical in your work.

You are a team player with humility, flexibility and respectful attitude towards your co-workers.

Sensitivity toward other culture/mentality in the respective countries.
Travel requirement 30% nationally and internationally.
