You will part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), which is a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
Project Controls is a vital part in project execution which aim to support Project Management teams by applying integrated project control processes, tools and techniques and to provide expertize to project planning and scheduling, cost and cash management, as well as change control and risk management activities. The purpose of the Project Controls function is to facilitate proactive performance management by providing consistent, accurate and timely information to the project team.

Your responsibilities
Leading the planning and scheduling for the entire project phase.
Developing and maintaining the project schedule throughout the projects in HVDC's delivery of EPC-projects (Engineering, Procurement and Construction).
Analyzing project requirements with project team to check that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules.
Defining, jointly with the project team, project work and cost breakdown structure, developing and maintaining properly linked, required resource loaded/integrated baseline and current schedules that provide time phased baseline, actual and forecast data for project.
Monitoring project progress and regularly analyzing project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, notifying Project Team of any deviations or scheduling issues, and providing input for optimizing resources.
Issuing progress reports, program updates and productivity data on a regular basis and as requested by customers and stakeholders.

Your background
An Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling in lump sum projects, including site construction activities and experience to plan activities and to monitor execution schedules and physical progress in all project phases.
Experience from Cost Management, including cost estimate input from departments, compare estimate input to experience data and ensure compliance with time schedule.
Work experience as Project Planner in large EPC companies or similar, is seen as an advantage.
Thorough understanding of logical sequencing and interfacing of project execution activities in EPC projects and ability to lead planning activities in multi-location EPC projects.
Being a team player, with leadership skills, business mindset and flexibility, and a strong communicator with ability to highlight key issues and to communicate them to management and customers.
Fluency in English, verbal and written alike, is essential, as at ABB HVDC we work in an international environment.
