hela Sverige Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a world-leading manufacturer of high-value-added products in stainless steel materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems. Product areas comprise Tube, Strip, Wire and Heating Technology, Process Systems and MedTech.
There is a clearly stated and ambitious objective within SMT that concerns the development and sales of new products. Consequently the primary focus of the SMT Research and Development Unit is product and process development, and SMT's highest priority development projects are run by the Unit's Project Office.
The staffing of the SMT Project Office consists of three different project management positions; project manager-trainee, project manager and senior project manager. We are now looking for a senior Project Manager or a Project Manager for SMT?s future products, based in our office in Sandviken.
Key performance areas
An efficient Project Manager provides the best guarantee that a project is going to achieve its goals, and the position is consequently a strategically important function within Sandvik. You will be provided considerable opportunities to develop in the role, as tasks involve total responsibility for entire projects, from the request to the delivery of a new product. The primary tasks in this position include:
• As senior Project Manager
• Independently running complex projects and programs. Acting as a mentor for new Project Managers.
• As Project Manager
• Independently running product development projects prioritized by SMT. Competence development such as project management certification is also included.
All Project Managers at the office participate in the work of continuously developing the project model.
Your profile
The ideal candidate for this position holds a Master's in Engineering or has an equivalent university education, complemented by project management training. You have long experience of project management in an R&D-oriented environment. Experience of running projects in large-scale, complex matrix organizations is a plus.
As a person you are an experienced manager who is driven, goal-focused and structured in your working methods. You are customer focused and find it easy to communicate and cooperate with others. You enjoy challenges and desire to be part of, and contribute to, the development of the department. Good levels of both written and spoken English are essential.
