Läkare Utan Gränser (MSF Sweden) is looking for an interim Direct Dialogue Responsible for six months, who will be a part of the private fundraising department at MSF Sweden.

Starting date: April 20, 2012 or according to agreement

Type of contract: 100%, temporary position (Interim)

Contract duration: April 20 2012 until January 31 2013

Salary: According to MSF Sweden salary policy

GENERAL PRESENTATION

MSF Sweden is a respected and visible actor for humanitarian principles and action in Swedish civil society, with a strong presence in media. MSF Sweden was founded by Swedish doctors in 1993. As a partner in the international MSF movement, MSF Sweden exists to assist populations in danger by recruiting medical and non-medical fieldworkers, by raising funds and by raising awareness and provoke change through the act of témoignage (bear witness), or advocacy.

Since its foundation, the Swedish section has grown at an impressive rate. By the end of 2010, MSF Sweden had 240 000 private donors supporting the organisation, while the Swedish government through Sida contributed with 109 million SEK in addition to the 323 million SEK raised that year within private fundraising.

RAISON D'ETRE », MISSION AND NATURE OF THE FUNCTION (vision of the post)

• To increase the fundraising capacity of MSF-Sweden to ensure resources for MSF's work and mission.
• To increase the regular income by managing and enlarging the different dialogue methods (Face-2-Face and other) as a major source for new regular donors.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND DUTIES

General

• Responsible for the overall management of the Direct Dialogue team, including ensure shared ownership of the vision and plan for the Direct Dialogue team, Fundraising department, and MSF Sweden.
• Responsible for the leadership of the Direct Dialogue team except team leaders and canvassers, creating the preconditions for the team to be successful, including inspire the team and ensure their personal growth and ensure team work.
• Responsible for the overall frame work of working in the Direct Dialogue team including general structure, standard working methods and culture within the team. 
• Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all dialogue fundraising in Sweden, in accordance with MSF-Sweden's annual plan.
• Responsible for closely following and analysing results on Direct Dialogue activities, including follow-up against budget, reporting to the Head of fundraising.
• Responsible for continuously and proactively improving methods, suggesting and testing new strategies, and implementing changes.
• Responsible for evaluating, analyse and preparing a suggestion for MSF Sweden's continued Direct Dialogue activities.
• As a member of the proactive fundraising team, take active part of the overall planning and strategies for fundraising, sharing the plans and visions.
• Responsible for Complement Caller activities.

DIRECT DIALOGUE and D2D activities in different locations in Sweden

Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö

• Responsible for coaching and on a daily basis managing the Direct Dialogue Team coordinators.
• Responsible for planning and setting up the Direct Dialogue projects in the new cities, according MSF Sweden's annual plan. 
• Responsible for hiring the team coordinators for the new locations and together with HoF, and the Stockholm team leaders in collaboration with the FSC.
• Responsible for hiring the canvassers together with the team coordinators concerned.
• Support team coordinators for planning, preparing and evaluation of the weekly travelling to locations outside the main location.

Quality & Training

• Support Team coordinators in ensuring training for all Direct Dialogue canvassers on Direct Dialogue techniques, ethics and practices, as well as on MSF knowledge, humanitarian issues and daily briefing updates.
• Ensuring for professional and correct behaviour of Direct Dialogue-teams in collaboration with concerned team coordinator.
• Ensuring canvassers and team leaders are regularly  updated on MSF work and mission by their Team coordinator
• Ensuring for all practical details regarding materials such as leaflets, binders and thank-you letters needed for the Direct Dialogue activities.
• Ensuring Complement Caller receive relevant training for the follow up activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Interest in humanitarian issues and sharing of MSF values.
• Computer literate, especially excel
• Excellent written and spoken Swedish, good written and spoken English.
• Ready to travel within Sweden
• Has a personal maturity and is self-propelled
• Is persistent as well as discerning
• Has good leadership skills and is businesslike

VALUABLE

• Experience of working with humanitarian organisations. 
• Strong experience in marketing via dialogue; Direct Dialogue fundraising, Face-2-Face or other
• Have integrity and is empathic
• Is decisive and structured
