hela Sverige Projects and Range Architecture (PRA) is a function in the Global Product Development organisation responsible to bring a significant contribution to the performance of Volvo Bus Corporation by:
• managing the project factory
• product cradle-to-grave responsibility
• range architecture
• homologation and certification of products and vehicles
PRA is a team of 100 people including project management, product management and homologation represented on 5 sites.
We are now looking for a Project Assurance Manager
Considering the continued urbanisation world-wide, there is an increasing concern about congestion and the environment. Since public transporting by bus plays a vital role in the solution, we expect an interesting and challenging future.
Job description:
The mission of the Project Assurance Manager (PAM) role is project quality assurance and this is done by following and adhering to proven project management principles. The purpose is to ensure that VBC start cost projects are proactively and project quality assured run in an optimal way to ensure fulfillment of customer demands. The PAM is providing process quality and project management expertise, risk management, support with time planning activities, organization of gate audits and lesson learned work and visual planning to all global product projects at VBC.
The successful PAM will qualify for project management positions within the company.
You will report to the Manager Project Assurance and Requirement Management within Projects and Range Architecture.
Main responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of a Project Assurance Manager are to proactively ensure fulfillment of the project end deliverables by:
• Securing the project gate and end deliverables
• Establishing and leading the work with Project Governance Tool (PGT) including leading the work to adapt the Project Assurance Plan to specific project needs
• Leading Project Risk Management
• Defining, tracking and leading/lifting activities to remove non-conformances in the project work
• Lead and plan specific workshops within the project
• Support in time planning activities
• In many cases act the right hand of the Chief Project Manager
• Organizing gate audits and presenting the project target status
• Gathering and reusing lessons learned
• Visual planning and information sharing
• Recommend gate opening according to agreement at Project assurance reference group
Requested qualifications:
Successful candidates should match the following skills and experience profile:
• Experiences from project and process management is a must
• Good knowledge in the Develop Product Process and about the ISO standard 9001:2000
• Risk management experience and knowledge
• Structural and analytical
• Good leadership skills to take lead in all project assurance activities
• Focus on deliveries and meeting deadlines
• Target-oriented with a strong drive for results
• Good net-worker with a holistic view and good communication and negotiating skills
• Change oriented with a positive attitude
• University degree in relevant subjects, fluent in English and preferably PMP certified according to the PMI standard
