hela Sverige The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management is part of the faculty for Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Sciences. Teaching and research responsibilities of the department cover six thematic areas: landscape planning, landscape analysis, governance and management, urban vegetation, cultural heritage, and design of urban landscapes. Teaching and research are multidisciplinary, including the perspectives of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and technology. Of special concern is the development of action-oriented knowledge about society and sustainable urban environments through studies of planning and design practices. The department's staff comprises 80 members, active in both teaching and research.
Duties:
We are searching for a researcher to work on project management within the ENVISION project (An inclusive approach to assessing integrative scenarios and visions for protected area management). SLU is responsible for overall project coordination. The ENVISION project aims to develop an inclusive approach to the conservation of protected areas in Europe and the United States, which will combine participatory scenario modelling, multi-narrative platforms, and knowledge co-creation processes.
This role will involve project management tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the establishment of advisory boards, and internal communication and external communication to target audiences. Specific management tasks include arranging field trips, advisory board meetings, reporting to Formas and the BiodivERsA Secretariat, and internal (within project team) and external communications. Regular online meetings with the project team will be conducted.
Qualifications:
Required:
• PhD in ecology, social sciences or related field
• Demonstrated experience in working at the science-policy interface
• Demonstrated experience in engaging diverse stakeholders (e.g., industry, government, academics and landholders)
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Effective inter- and intrapersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in working cohesively in an inter-disciplinary team environment
• Desired:
• Research track record in environmental science or environmental social science
• Ability to work independently and to support online meetings
• Well-networked in international research and stakeholder communities
Place of work:
Most of the work will be located at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management, Alnarp, Sweden. Some field work and attendance of meetings across the European Union will be expected.
