Organization
The mission of Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare (JA) is to support health and welfare development and improvement through research, education and enhancement of the application of knowledge in the emerging field of Improvement Science. Our focus is leadership, improvement and innovation. Improvement science combines social and behavioral sciences with health and welfare. The goal of research is to contribute to knowledge about leadership, improvement and innovation in order to increase the value, quality, and safety of services in the health and welfare systems. The field is multi-disciplinary and highly applied. The education at JA includes a master program in Improvement and Leadership in Health and Welfare, a PhD program in Improvement Science and courses designed for organizations in topics relevant for leadership and other areas related to practice. As professor, you will strategically lead and develop research and education in Improvement Science locally, nationally and internationally in international collaboration. You will actively work together with leaders of research and education at JA to develop innovative education nationally and internationally in the field. You will also actively participate in education at JA. You're a part of the leadership- and strategy groups at JA as well as the research board at the School of Health and Welfare.
Other work tasks are:
- perform own research in the field, supervise PhD students and support the development of the processes for academic advancement
- apply for research grants and support research applications in the field
- strengthen the multidisciplinary work at JU
- strengthen co-creation with the surrounding society with a special focus on development together with citizens and users.
Qualifications
For qualifications as a professor it is required that the applicant has a doctoral degree in relevant field. You have in the field demonstrated scientific proficiency through independent research efforts that significantly exceed quantitative and qualitative requirements for the teacher's competence and which includes planning and management of research. You have experience with research with the surrounding community and to build partnerships with practice. The applicant shall also have:
- undergone university pedagogical education or otherwise acquired equivalent competence
- documented teaching ability and ability to interact with the surrounding community in development programs
- experience in independent research and research in teams with interdisciplinary perspectives. International research and education cooperation is meritorious
- documented experience of teaching and supervision at all levels, which includes education administration as well as educational leadership such as program and course development
- experience in participating in and developing international networks in the field of research
- applied for and obtained research funds by major providers in international competition and includes own research funds
- fluent in spoken and written English, Swedish is meritorious.
It's meritorious if you have documented experience of leadership and change work in practice outside academics and management assignments in universities. Experience of to spread and support the utilization of research and development work outside the scientific community and missions in area of health and welfare are also meritorious.
You are a good team worker and have ability to contribute to a good working environment, as well as leading groups. You are curious, creative and border-crossing between theory and practice, between different research paradigms and scientific methods. You have ability to collaborate and communicate professionally in international, interdisciplinary environments.
Terms of employment
The employment is permanent with full-time. The work is physically placed in Jönköping. The employment begins according to agreement.
