We at Outokumpu in Degerfors are searching for an intuitive and responsible Production Engineer to support our Pickling & Finishing lines. We offer you a broad role with great freedom that places you in the heart of our world-class stainless-steel production.
As a Production Engineer, your duties will be both operative and strategic. You will collaborate with the manager and specialists to continuously improve the department's production and maintenance processes. You will also support the manager in coordinating and leading the operators' daily activities, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and respectful work environment.
In the Pickling & Finishing department, we are conducting various chemical processes and analyses to ensure our stainless steel meets the highest possible standards. As the manager's right hand, your goal is then to troubleshoot, develop, and optimize the chemistry in our products and between our people.

What is the Graduate program?
In the Graduate program, you will have a thorough onboarding into your role and grow a deeper understanding of our business. You will have the opportunity to get international and cross-functional insights parallel with your main responsibilities. Additionally, you will participate in a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training and become responsible for improvement projects. Who are you?
We believe that you're a cooperative and socially adept individual with a few years of experience in your field of study and/or as a manager. You lead yourself with integrity and expertise, and as a result, can build trust with people of varying functions and personalities. Clear, prestige-less, and respectful communication is important to you and so is your growth as a person and as an engineer.

Qualifications
Recent engineering degree focused in manufacturing, chemistry, mechanical, or other education/experience we consider equivalent
3-4 years' work experience in e.g. manufacturing, chemistry, maintenance, and/or as a manager
Interest in chemical processes and cross-functional development
Experience with continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) projects is a merit
Working proficiency in Swedish & English languages
