Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is an independent non-profit foundation and centre for medicines safety and scientific research. Product Specialist

We are looking for an English- and Chinese-speaking Product Specialist at Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) to support the two UMC product portfolios (WHODrug Product Portfolio and Pharmacovigilance Product Portfolio).

Aim and functions of the position

- Actively support product management and customer engagement processes with expertise knowledge regarding UMC products for users in regulatory settings (industry as well as regulatory authority users)
- Ensure the product meets the user's needs, thus supporting wise, therapeutic decision-making by patients and health professionals
- Ensure that the users understand the full potential of the product to optimize their use.

Key responsibilities

- Communicate UMC product portfolio benefits to users via online meetings and webinars, act as booth personnel at exhibitions, participate in training efforts, make presentations at user group meetings, and visit key customers.
- Support the customer by advising on the use of the Product Portfolios and proactively identify specific customer needs to enable best possible value from the client's investment and a successful use of the products.
- Support product development by ensuring feedback of the customer (e.g., the voice of the customer needs) to the Portfolio manager.
- Ensure that UMC industry customers and UMC product management are supported to fulfil customer satisfaction and gaining business value.

We are looking for someone who

- has a B.Sc. in Life Sciences, such as engineering, pharmacist, chemist or similar.
- is fluent in written and oral Chinese and English
- has excellent communicative and networking skills
- has experience working with product support, and an understanding of software development within the life sciences field (regulator or pharmaceutical industry)

It is an advantage if you:

- have a PhD in a relevant field.
- have experience in intracultural communication.
- have experience working with clinical trials or pharmacovigilance in the life sciences industry or at a regulatory agency.

You are a curious fast learner who solves tasks independently and meets set deadlines. You are also analytical and result oriented. You have sound and rational judgements, and view tasks using a systematic approach, while keeping the big picture in mind. You also possess strong written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills. You are a team player who believes in sharing your ideas and experiences with your colleagues. You are fluent in English and Chinese and are willing to travel internationally as part of your job.

We are the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring, and manage the technical and operational aspects of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring since 1978.

As an independent, non-profit foundation, we support the World Health Organization, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders who share our vision of advancing medicines safety. Through research and development of new scientific methods, we explore the benefits and harms of medicines for patients, and offer products and services used by health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry worldwide
