The purpose of our function is to increase efficiency within the Development Process and GPD (Global Product Development) function of Volvo Buses, and thus enable business opportunities and prevent unnecessary loss costs. We do this by supporting change and excellence in execution.
We are now looking for a passionate Process Manager for the Embedded Software (ESW) area, who has a desire to make change happen and to widen his/her business experience at Volvo Buses
Role mission & context
As part of the GPD Strategy and P&IT function, you will join a group of skilled and fully dedicated colleagues, with creation of Business value as a main goal.
As Process Manager, you will not only lead Process and Method development for the changes necessary to meet the industry challenges for automated connected vehicles and software realized functionality , but also implement new ways of working in our vehicle projects. You will thus be driving teams with the purpose of delivering unique Business value through changes and excellence in execution.
You will on a daily basis interact with the process management and product development communities from several cultures, sites and departments.
You will be part of the Electrical management team as well as the GPD Strategy and P&IT management team.
You will report to the Vice President for GPD Strategy and P&IT.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain ESW process to meet the needs of Volvo Buses next generation ESW product platform
• Develop and maintain the ESW processes consistency for all brands and sites
• Actively coach and support the Volvo Buses next generation ESW platform project
• Manage the day to day governance of the ESW process securing a full cross functional participation

Wanted Profile
As Process Manager you need to have the ability to autonomously and trustfully lead improvement activities.
You have proven experience as a leader in driving change, typically able to handle all aspects of process management, all the way from development to downstream implementation and roll-out of changes. You have experience of systems engineering, combining lean and agile ways of working with quality assured automotive processes.
Since you are part of a global unit you enjoy actively cooperating with various stakeholders and navigating with ease in a multi-cultural environment.
As a person, you are driven and you have a strong customer focus with a collaboration and knowledge sharing mindset. You contribute with team spirit and you like to proactively take responsibility. You act with integrity and are result oriented.
Required Competencies
• Excellent business knowledge of and experience from ESW development in the automotive industry or equivalent
• State of the art knowledge of agile ways of working, processes, methods and tools for ESW development and industrialization for low volume manufacturing
• Good understanding and experience from effects of trade-offs made during development on down-stream operations
• A good understanding and experience from standards relevant for the transportation industry, e.g. autosar, ISO26262 (or other functional safety standards) and SAFe (scaled agile framework)
• Excellent experience in Change Management from the ESW area. Coaching experience in agile ways of working is seen as a merit
• Excellent leadership skills
We also see that you have:
• In-depth practical experience of business and process management
• Relevant university degree from a recognized institute
• Complete proficiency in English
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
