ISH was established in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels. Today, we have approximately 730 students between 3 and 19 years of age attending our Pre-school, Primary School, Middle School and Diploma Programme with International Baccalaureate. Our teachers come from about 30 different countries all over the world, and the same goes for our students.
Our programmes offer an alternative for international families who are residing in the Helsingborg region on a temporary basis, or for those moving overseas. Our MYP (Middle Year Program) and DP (Diploma Program) are located in a separate building and is an excellent choice for all students, Swedish or International, looking to further their studies abroad or in Sweden once they graduate. The aim of our school is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

As the preschool class assistant, your role will be to assist the class teachers in carrying out lessons for the students, ages 3- 6 in the preschool program. You will also assist in planning the afternoon activities for the children in daycare. You will have responsibility for the pastoral care of the students and have close contact with the parents. You will work closely with the other teachers in our preschool following the philosophy of the IB education. You will be expected to interact with the students in a caring, gentle but firm manner. You will be expected to be professional and flexible, both towards your colleagues and the greater school community.

IB diploma results are considerably higher than the IB world average on grades, points and diploma achievement.
KvalifikationerThe successful candidate will have a degree in early childhood education (Barn-och Fritid) or other education seen as equivalent by the employer. Work experience with preschool aged children, preferably from an international school environment, will be seen as a plus. To be successful in this position you need to have very good knowledge of English both verbally and written.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player and will have the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, as well as with students and parents. You communicate proactively, support and care for others, and have strong communications skills. You are expected to be a positive and service minded person with a flexible approach to work. This means that you enjoy working with people and demonstrate an interest in and understanding of others.
The position will start as soon as possible, preferably during September. We apply continuously selection during the process and the position can therefore be filled before the ad expires.
