At the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering our students are studying to be for example innovators, entrepreneurs, illustrators, communications officers, network technicians and engineers. Here we have the research specialisations of Embedded Systems, and Innovation and Product Realisation. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.Employment information

Position description
Research will be conducted within the EU-funded projects TRUSTY and FitDrive.
The project TRUSTY aims to provide adaptation in the level of transparency to enhance the trustworthiness of AI-powered decisions in the context of remote digital towers (RDTs). FitDrive aims to develop practical innovative methods and technological solutions for evaluating driver's performance i.e., a non-invasive drivers' monitoring system to monitor mental workload and cognitive load, physical fatigue, and reaction time.
The position focus is on computer vision, image processing/signal processing, advanced data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and explainable AI (XAI). It also requires developing self-explainable and self-learning' systems for critical decision-making and Transparent ML' models incorporating interpretability, fairness, and accountability.
The work requires theoretical studies on the state of the art, together with algorithm development and testing. As a postdoc, you are expected to develop independent ideas and to communicate research results in oral and written form. The employment includes international collaboration and co-production internationally.
The position is a temporary employment of 2 years.
Qualifications requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Computer Science. The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period.
This position requires knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence, deep Learning, machine learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI). Knowledge and experience in the development of interpretable machine-learning models with human-understandable features. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Merit
• Knowledge and Experience in XAI in application domains, e.g., such as Air traffic management and drivers' mental workload quantification and risky behaviour detection with explanations.
• Professional experience in EU projects.
• Extensive programming experience, e.g., C++, Python, SQL (MySQL), KNIME, and MATLAB, Tools & Packages.
• Extensive knowledge in LIME, SHAP, DALEX and User evaluation.
• Experience in teaching and supervising undergraduate students.
