You will be using state-of-the-art electron microscopy and spectroscopy. The research group has a wide spraad international contact network with exchange programs with research labs in Europe, Japan and USA.
About us
At Chalmers University of Technology, research in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology is carried out in a broad range of activities. Chalmers' researchers deal with basic research on the unique chemical and physical phenomena that prevail at very small dimensions, and promote the development of technologies that utilise these phenomen. You will be a member of the Eva Olsson Group, at the Department of Physics. The group focuses on advanced electron microscopy and methid developments for advancing the microscopy techniques. The reasearch will be carried out within the framework of a collaboration project with Linköping University and Uppsala University entitled " Flexible X-ray detectors based on novel high-Z covalent organic frameworks". The project is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.
Who we are looking for
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
To qualify as a post doc, you should hold a PhD degree in physics and have a strong interest in condensed matter physics. You should already have some skills in electron microscopy Finally, you should enjoy working in a collaborative environment including interactions with both theoreticians and experimentalists.
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline. *
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
You are expected to be somewhat accustomed to teaching, and to demonstrate good potential within research and education.
• The date shown in your doctoral degree certificate is the date we use, as this is the date you have met all requirements for the doctoral degree. Exceptions from the 3-year limit can be made for longer periods resulting from parental leave, sick leave or military service.
What you will do
Your major responsibility is to pursue the goals of your research project. You are also expected to develop own ideas and find your own ways in tackling research challenges. The position may also include some level of teaching duties as well as taking part in the supervision of bachelor and master students. Another important aspect involves national and international collaboration with experimental research groups.
The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
