Context of position
The initiative for Excellence in Production Research, XPRES, is a joint initiative between KTH, MDH and Swerea. One focus area within XPRES is Life cycle considerations on product realization. The available position concerns this focus area and the development of methods and tools for enabling and improving long term resource productivity.
The overall mission of the position is to contribute to the development of the scientific excellence for the research group within life cycle approaches towards product realization at MDH. The group should be developed in line with the XPRES initiative and in close collaboration with KTH and Swerea.
The position as post doc includes:
• Identify a specific area of interest within life cycle approaches towards product realization.
• Participate in relevant research projects and activities within the XPRES initiative. Projects of specific interest are: ProLoc, Green Production Systems and Kaikaku.
• Contribute to the application for financial grants in order to ensure sustainable growth of the research group at MDH.
• Act as co-supervisor of graduate students within the specific focus.
• Participate in the undergraduate education at Mälardalen University within product- and process development.
• Contribute to enhanced scientific rigour and documented scientific contributions such as high ranked publications and supervised exams.
• Develop personal scientific and pedagogical skills in order to merit to senior lecturer at MDH.
The position is a two year part-time position (60%) available for individuals with employment elsewhere. Duration of employment 2011-09-01 - 2013-07-31.
Qualifications
The person should have PhD degree and pedagogical skills required for a post doc position within Production development. The position enables a close industrial and academic collaboration and the strategic link between the other employer and MDH is an important aspect. Documented scientific contributions and ability to attract external funding, leading research projects, supervision of graduate and undergraduate students as well as teaching experience are positive. International experience and a good understanding of product realization in a broad perspective are important aspects.
