Company Description
Hej Platform Engineering Leader - Supply Chain Planning Development Area,
Do you want to continue creating a better life at home - and for yourself?
With us, you can feel at home in your work while continuing to grow and develop within IKEA. We encourage you to stand up for yourself and others, explore new perspectives, and learn from both successes and mistakes. We invite you to open new doors, build on your experience, and challenge yourself in new ways.
We are now looking for a Platform Engineering Leader to help us evolve our supply chain planning capabilities and ensure our digital platform can continuously adapt to changing business needs.
Job Description
As a Platform Engineering Leader within the Supply Chain Planning Development Area, you will play a key role in shaping, evolving and enabling the platform ecosystem around our core planning capabilities.
You are accountable for ensuring that our platform:
Works reliably and efficiently in daily operations
Enables fast, high-quality planning decisions
Evolves continuously with business and technology changes
Balances vendor capabilities with internal platform development

You will guide the platform team in making the right technical and architectural choices, while ensuring strong alignment with business outcomes.
While you will not be hands-on in all technical implementation, you will be responsible for clarity, direction and decision-making in an environment with high complexity and ambiguity.
You will collaborate closely with:
Digital Product Area leadership
Product, platform and engineering teams
Business stakeholders within supply chain planning
External suppliers and technology partners

You report to Competence Hub Development Manager, and work in close collaboration with architecture and engineering peers across IKEA.
On a typical day, you will:
Set clear priorities and direction for the platform based on business needs
Make decisions in ambiguity (e.g. build vs reuse, speed vs sustainability)
Ensure reliable data flows and integrations across the planning ecosystem
Work closely with engineers, architects and product teams to guide solutions
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs and challenges
Engage with external suppliers to align on capabilities and trade-offs
Translate business needs into technical direction and technical complexity into business value
Communicate decisions clearly by explaining value, trade-offs, risks and expected outcomes to different audiences
Create clarity and alignment across teams by adapting communication to engineers, business stakeholders, leaders and suppliers
Coach and support engineers, improving both technical thinking and communication
Continuously adapt and evolve the platform as business and technology change

Qualifications
What we'd like you to bring
Experience working with platforms, architecture, or complex digital systems
Good understanding of data, integration and system ecosystems
Experience working with SaaS-based or externally provided solutions
Ability to make decisions in complex and uncertain situations and move work forward
Strong judgement in balancing short-term needs with long-term sustainability
Ability to see the big picture across systems, data and processes
Solid understanding of what to build vs what to reuse or leverage externally
Strong ability to communicate and create clarity on technical concepts in a clear and value-focused way, translating complexity into business impact, trade-offs and outcomes for a wide range of audiences, including team members, stakeholders and suppliers
Ability to create clarity, explain trade-offs, and build alignment across teams
