About us
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Chalmers and University of Gothenburg in Sweden with approximately 300 employees from more than 30 countries is widely recognized for excellent research and education. Our division Interaction Design and Software Engineering provides world-leading research and education in the development of complex and software-intense systems and is characterized by extensive international cooperation as well as close collaboration with the local industry.
About the research project
The research takes place in the context of Software Center, a collaboration between 15 companies and 5 universities around accelerating digitalization (software, data and AI). Specifically, the project is focused on data practices. Effective use of AI and AI agents requires high quality data. This research is concerned with studying what data companies should collect, how they should process it, where to store it and how to optimally prepare it for use in AI-driven systems and solutions
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
• To qualify as a PhD student, you must have a master's level degree in a relevant field. Equivalent requirements apply to individuals with an education earned outside of Sweden, for example a 4-year bachelor's degree is accepted.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

What you will do
• Take courses at an advanced level within the Graduate school of Computer Science and Engineering
• Develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing
• The position generally also includes teaching on Chalmers' undergraduate level or performing other duties corresponding to 20 percent of working hours
Contract terms and what we offer
• The PhD position is fully funded from start

• The position is limited to four years, with the possibility to teach up to 20%, which extends the position to five years.

• A starting salary of 34,550 SEK per month (valid from May 25, 2025).
