Volvo Group is world leader in Electromobility. Our team is agile, truly customer oriented, working closely together to drive the development of new technology, new business models and new ways of working. We are responsible to run the complete Electromobility development work including demonstrator vehicles for several of the business areas within Volvo Group. Examples are Hybrid, Electric Hybrid and full Electric Bus, Hybrid Trucks and full Electric Trucks, Hybrid and full Electric Construction Equipment and Industrial & Marine applications.
Responsibilities / Main tasks
In this position you will lead a team of engineers developing one of the key sub-systems of electric drivetrain, Traction Motor Drive System. The team is a mix of competences and experiences with a focus to continuously evolve and ensure quality of our existing products but also to develop new systems to further strengthen our electromobility platform. System design responsibility covers both traction motor drive systems and related systems such are electromechanical power take-offs and brake resistors. The hardware responsibility includes electric machines and power conversion technologies and corresponding suppliers' interactions.
Your main task over time is to develop the team and the individuals to support future challenges contributing to the deliveries start cost, maintenance and advanced engineering projects according to quality, delivery, cost and feature targets. One important function is also to support in definition, communication and execution of strategies and targets for the team and the department.
You will be a part of the Motor Drive System management team, and report to Director Motor Drive System.

You have University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. You have years of work experience within the automotive engineering. It is considered as a merit if you have experience in the development of electric machines, power conversion technologies or complete motor drive systems for traction and have a good understanding of the technology challenges in vehicle applications.
