The Global Patient Safety organization, which manages all pharmacovigilance activities for AZ, is part of the Global Clinical Development (GCD) organization and is based at all the AZ R&D sites outside Asia.
As part of the major restructuring in Global Clinical Development, a new Patient Safety structure has been aligned to the R&D organization.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to patient safety, including safety reporting and risk management
Delivering high quality safety information and knowledge to customers throughout the product life cycle
The roles
This posting is for two (2) permanent and one (1) temporary secondment for the role of Patient Safety Sr. Scientist / Expert in the global Patient Safety Systems and Information Strategy section.
These individuals will report to the global Section Director PS Systems and Information Strategy. They position will require close collaboration with the global Patient Safety leads of Safety Database & Compliance, Safety Analytics, and Safety Informatics as the work is conducted in global teams to support pharmacovigilance tools and processes.
The individuals will be expected to be able to act globally, independently and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across all functions in AZ. This will require an awareness of, and adherence to, regulations under which AZ operates.
Minimum requirements
Life Sciences education / Pharmacy degree / PhD
Proven experience in Pharmacovigilance and Drug Development / Discovery
Experience in systems management and support, signal management, bioinformatics, and predictive modeling is highly desirable.
Proven collaborative skills with experience in global team environments.
Fluent in English language with excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to work across cultures and to represent AstraZeneca externally, if required.
Flexibility with the ability to multi-task and willingness to take on new opportunities
Preferred experience/requirements
A comprehensive knowledge of AZ and Patient Safety policies, processes, procedures and specialty areas as these pertain to the relevant roles
Understanding of specialty areas within the function and the relevant interdependencies.
