called FORIC - Forest as a Resource Industrial Research College. FORIC is a new industrial research
school aimed to develop the future starts in the forest and biomass related sciences.
An industrial PhD position means that you will be employed by Organofuel Sweden, but will at the
same time be enrolled and working with world class scientist at KTH and Mid Sweden University,
Campus Sundsvall. The intended project will deal with the investigation of green catalytic processes
and design of nanocellulose based material. The successful candidate will therefore have a chance to
develop expert knowledge in organic chemistry/green catalysis and fundamental knowledge in the
development of nanocellulose based materials.
We are looking for potential candidates that have or will soon graduate with a M.Sc. in chemical
engineering or organic chemistry. The candidate should have a strong interest in organic chemistry
and research and should be familiar with analytical techniques common in organic chemistry such as
NMR, IR, GC-MS, LC-MS, etc. The candidate should also be able to communicate in English both oral
and in written.
Organofuel Sweden is a green tech company that has developed new innovative ways that can
valorize biomass into high value products. In this context, R&D is an essential part of our business and
therefore we believe that it is essential to educate and stimulate fundamental research in the area of
forestry and biomass related sciences.
